Now consider this scenario, involving me spending most of the day on the phone:

Main topic of conversation #2: Chan has found a girl he is falling in love with.
Later, at half eleven in the night, I call The Syrian, and for the first time in three weeks of phone contact, the phone cuts off in mid-ring - meaning one of two things:
1. A dropped call.
2. A declined call.
I call again. Same thing happens.
For the first time in several hours today, I am not on the phone. There is a knot in my chest.
